PP Melt Blown Water Filter Eelement

The PP water filter element is made of polypropylene ultra-fine fibers hot-melt entangled, and the fibers randomly form a three-dimensional microporous structure in space. The pore size of the micropores is distributed in a gradient along the flow direction of the filtrate, integrating surface, deep, and fine filtration, and can intercept impurities of different particle sizes. Filter cartridge accuracy range 0.5-100 μM.

The production and filtration principle of PP cotton filter element:

(1) PP melting& spraying filter cartridge is a tubeshaped product, which is made of polypropylene through melting, spraying, drawing, receiving and forming processes.
(2) Only 10-1 micrometer pore size is reserved inside the PP cotton filter element.
(3) Substances larger than the pore size or some heterochromatic substances will be adsorbed onto the surface of the filter element.
(4) Very suitable for primary filtration of aquatic products.
(5) Polypropylene is a food grade material that is guaranteed in terms of environmental protection and safety.

What is the purpose of PP cotton filter element?
PP cotton filter cartridge integrates blockage, adsorption, decomposition, and sewage discharge. Effectively remove sediment, rust, floating algae, suspended particulate matter, some microorganisms, bacteria, and chemical residues from water.

Why Choose Melt-Blown PP Filters?

Not All Sediment Filters Are Equal-Ours Are Engineered for Maximum Efficiency
* True Depth Filtration: Gradient density structure traps particles throughout the matrix-not just on the surface-for longer service life.
* 100% Pure Polypropylene: No binders, glues, or additives-chemically inert, resistant to acids, alkalis, and solvents.
* FDA & NSF Certified: Compliant with FDA 21 CFR 177.1520 and NSF/ANSI 42 for potable water contact.
* High Flow, Low Pressure Drop: Optimized fiber structure maintains flow even as the filter loads.
* Thermally Bonded Ends: No leakage or bypass-secure fit in standard 10", 20", 30", 40" housings.
* Eco-Friendly: Fully incinerable with no toxic residue; recyclable in some regions.

Key Applications of PP Filter Cartridges

Where PP Sediment Filters Are Essential:

* Reverse Osmosis (RO) Pre-Filtration: Protects delicate RO membranes from sand, rust, and scale particles

* Drinking Water Systems: Whole-house, under-sink, and countertop purifiers

* Well Water Treatment: Removes sand, silt, and iron flocs before softeners or UV

* Food & Beverage: Clarification of process water, syrup, and ingredients

* Pharmaceutical & Electronics: Final particulate guard before DI or ultrafiltration

* Industrial Process Water: Cooling towers, boiler feed, parts washing

* Aquaculture & Irrigation: Prevents nozzle clogging in drip systems

Applications of PP Water Filter

How to Choose the Right PP Filter

* Know your water source: City water → 5µm; Well/surface water → 25µm → 5µm (dual stage)
* Match housing size: Most residential = 10"; Commercial = 20"/40"
* Consider flow rate: Higher flow? Use 20" or 40" to reduce pressure drop
* High sediment load? Choose High-Capacity (HC) series to extend life
* Need NSF certification? We provide full documentation for compliance projects

FAQ

Q1: What's the difference between string-wound and melt-blown PP filters?

A: String-wound filters use spun yarn-they can shed fibers and have lower dirt capacity. Melt-blown PP (ours) is made by extruding molten polymer into a dense, gradient web-offering higher efficiency, no fiber shedding, and better consistency. For critical applications like RO pre-filtration, melt-blown is the industry standard.

Q2: How often should I replace my PP filter?

A: Typically every 3–6 months, but it depends on water quality and usage. Replace when: - Pressure drop exceeds 15 psi - Flow rate noticeably decreases - Visible discoloration (brown/grey) In high-sediment wells, replacement may be needed monthly. Our HC series can double this interval.

Q3: Are your PP filters compatible with hot water?

A: Yes, up to 60°C (140°F). For hotter applications (e.g., boiler blowdown), consider stainless steel or specialty media filters instead.
