Maintenance and management precautions for screens

Leave a message

The screen is a treatment facility for intercepting coarse pollutants in sewage. It consists of a frame made of a group of parallel metal bars or bars. The screen is installed at the entrance of sewage channels, pump houses and wells or at the front end of sewage treatment plants to intercept coarse suspended or floating matter in wastewater to prevent blockage of pumps, pipes and treatment equipment. And reduce the treatment load of subsequent structures. Maintenance and management should pay attention to:

1. Clean the screen bars, slag rakes, screen slag boxes and front and rear water channels every day, remove the screen slag in time, and keep the screen unobstructed.

2. Check and adjust the flow control valve in front of the screen to ensure uniform distribution of the flow through the screen. At the same time, use the number of screens put into operation to control the flow rate through the screen within the required range. When the flow rate through the screen is found to be too high, the number of units put into operation should be appropriately increased;

3. Regularly check the sand settling in the channel. The sand deposited in the channel before and after the screen is related to the flow rate, as well as the slope and roughness of the water surface at the bottom of the channel. The sand accumulation in the channel should be checked regularly, and the cause of sand accumulation should be cleaned and eliminated in time.

4. The screen dirt remover is one of the most prone to failure in the sewage treatment plant. During the inspection, attention should be paid to whether there is any abnormal sound. Whether the screen bars are deformed. When a failure occurs, the cause should be found out in time, handled in time, and refueled, replaced and adjusted regularly.

5. Sewage decomposes during long-distance transportation, and the foul-smelling and toxic gases such as hydrogen sulfide and methyl mercaptan produced will be released in large quantities in the screen. Forced ventilation measures should be taken in the indoor screen room, which is also beneficial to the health of the on-duty personnel.

6. The amount of screen residue should be recorded every day. According to the change in the amount of screen residue, the efficiency of the screen to intercept pollution can be indirectly judged.
